Smell the Rain

I’m siting on our screened porch and the rain is moving in. It makes for a very pleasant morning. It also heightens my reluctance to return to painting. I really appreciate my time in the mornings. I get my best reading done then. A good cup of coffee and the opportunity to reflect and be thankful. I am having a late coffee with Mike today. I will get the painting done. There will be some time needed to get the paper work done to list our house. Melissa is relentless. It definitely “Get ‘R Done”. Another ballgame this eveing. Tomorrow Adam has asked me to go with him to do some random interviews, asking people who they think Jesus is. That should be interesting. He is preparing for the men’s retreat this fall.

If things go as planned I will begin a temporary job at University of Louisville on Monday. I am looking forward to the experience but I have mixed feelings about giving up my routine.

Painting Day

What can you say when your day is consumed by painting and going to the dentist? How about, no cavities! I’m still not finished with the bedroom painting but I’m taking a break for the evening and going to Ryan’s baseball game. I need more paint so the good news is that I will have to go back to WalMart. I always feel better after I’ve been to WalMart. I still think my idea to build condos on top of Walmart stores would be a success. Just think, Walmart cradle to grave.

Jerod goes Home

We took Jerod and met Tanya and the other kids for lunch in Frankfort. It was a nice visit. Jerod seemed to enjoy his stay with us but was anxious to get back for his swim meet this evening. I got a report on the swim meet this evening and Grayson, Blake and Meredith each got a first place ribbon. I didn’t talk to Jerod but Meredith reported he did well.

Tomorrow I plan to tackle painting the upstairs bedroom. I have a dentist appointment but that will just be a convienent break from painting. we are slowly getting the house ready to put up our for sale sign. Maybe this Saturday for the Glenmary yard sale.

Nice bike ride today. 16 miles @ 13.1 mph. Very good for me. I’m usually around 12.2 or 12.3. Maybe I need a road bike??
