Memorial Day

It is warm and cloudy this Memorial Day morning. Showers are expected today. We have had good weekend thus far. Ann and I traveled to Louisville Saturday for a cook out with old friends. We had a room downtown at the Galt House and spent the evening enjoying a walk around the waterfront and people watching.

Sunday morning we were up early and walked down 4th street to Broadway and back to the hotel. It was nostalgic to see the changes and remember our experiences with downtown Louisville over the past 40 years. We attended church at Okolona Church of Christ. The youth group led worship.

We had come to Louisville especially for the worship time because grandson Ryan was one of the speakers during the service. He did a great job. He not only presented well, he had good content. He reminded the congregation that church is a lot like a supreme pizza. The various ingredients are pretty good by themselves but when you put them all together that is when they are really spectacular. Preacher in the making????

The Graduate

Our grandchild graduate for this year is Meredith Crockett. She and her classmates at Wilmore Elementary School were honored for their completion of the fifth grade and elementary school. She will be going to West Jessamine Middle School next year. Meredith is a very special young lady. She has boundless energy and is full of ideas and imaginations. We have great conversations and I am always learning new things from her. Congratulations Meredith.

Happy Birthday

Yesterday was grandson Grayson’s ninth birthday. He is a great kid. He had a very special day. The morning started with a baseball game. He had  a great game fielding and hitting. His Red Sox remain in first place with their win. We celebrated his birthday with lunch at the Yamamoto Hibachi Grill. His big gift was two baseballs autographed by Texas Rangers Josh Hamilton and Ian Kinsler. Congratulations Grayson.
