Since I have had to re-create my blog I thought it would be a good time to use a new theme. It is somewhat like cleaning up my desk. It becomes an occasion for getting things done that I have been putting off. I’m hoping that will be the case with this blog.
The last few weeks have been interesting with all the work that I have been doing around the house. Whenever I get focused on projects, I notice that my thoughts are mostly centered on the projects more than reflection and attention to the presence of God. My dreams and early morning thoughts are affected. Generally, I find these times as occasion for prayer and contemplation. Recently, I have awaken with my mind running in high gear planning and strategizing about the work to be done. I find this to be an affirmation of my need to be intentional in my efforts to focus on conversation and the company of God. As I have mentioned before, recognizing how difficult it is for me, who has relatively few demands on my time, to focus on God, I am having a greater appreciation for “normal” people and families who, in the midst of their time demands, are striving to build a relationship with God. I believe it is helping me to be more understanding and less judgemental.
